An Industrial Visit was organized for the students of Electronics and Communication and Electrical Engineering Department at L S Cable & System India Pvt. Ltd.,Bawal near Rewari on 11th March 2016. Students visited the industry under the supervision of Mr. Harish khola, Ms. Ritu Sharma and Ms. Poonam Tyagi. LS Cable & System Ltd is No. 1 cable manufacturer in Korea previously known as LG Cable Ltd. It has led the cable industry in Korea and has pioneered in the field of High Quality cable research and had successfully developed high voltage cable. L S Cable System is the worlds 3rd largest manufacturing industry in EHV cables. The Company’s core business is focused in the industrial electric, electronics and materials sector. LS Cable operates business under the four divisions: Electrical Power Systems, Telecommunication, Electronic Components and Materials and Industrial Machinery. L S Cable Bawal was established by Mr. Cha –yub koo in the year 2008. Visit started with refreshment followed by video profile presentation of L S Cables by Mr. Gurani( System Design Head) .After Presentation students were divided into two groups and were shown two units (Power cable manufacturing and RF cable manufacturing unit). The core activities of the manufacturing units are to produce high quality Radio Frequency (Telecom) and Extra High Voltage (Power) cable with international standards. All cables are used for infrastructure networks. Also LS Cable India Pvt.Ltd provides turnkey solutions in design, erection, installation and other EPC areas in Power and 4G LTE solutions in Telecom Segments. (Vodafone, Idea, BSNL, UNINOR, TATA,Reliance) During the visit students interacted with Sr. Manager Production (Power Cable ) Mr. Dalbir Khatri and Sr. manager (RF Cable) Mr. Dinesh . Students also interacted with Manager General Administration Mr. Virender Pandita. After the visit lunch was organized by the company management. A long day visit ended on high note with exchange of mementoes between industry heads and college faculties.
Technical project exhibition is an important event in the students’ technical career; it is a platform for the students to show his / her technical calibre, knowledge, skills and innovative approach for presenting him/ herself in front of the technical experts and their colleagues & fellow students. Through this type of event a student can develop technical as well as interpersonal skills by working independently as well as in a team. This kind of technical exhibition was organized by GITM’s ECE department in the month of December 2015 by the help of Prof. Bijender M’Dia (HOD-ECE) and Er. Devender Saini (Project In-charge) and all the faculty and technical staff members of the department. For organizing this type of exhibition the ECE department is very thankful to the Director Dr. Kamal Thakur & Managements. In this Exhibition more that 50 electronic working projects were made and displayed by the students of B. Tech. & M. Tech. final year. Out of these projects: automatic robotic gesture controller with remote sensing, wireless optical communication with LASER, solar car battery fast charger, Automatic Irrigation system for farmers, remote control for home appliances, prepaid energy meter for household power supply, electronic system for blind people, remote control vehicle, automatic line follower, automatic hurdle detector, Ultrasonic distance measurement, frequency meter, railway station alarm for Indian railway, digital temperature controller for industries etc. were of main attraction. In addition, ECE department has formed a new GITM-IEEE student branch on 18th July'2014 to enhance the latest trends in Electronics Engineering. In recent years, the GITM-IEEE's strategic planning has been guided by its vision statement "To be the leading provider of technical information and services for the world's computing professionals." To accomplish our mission, we have led the GITM-IEEE in member service innovations.
The main objective of the GITM-IEEE is to bring together researchers, industrial experts and academicians to discuss the recent trends in technology & science and its allied areas.
An international Tech-Fest 'IGNITRON14' has been conducted by GITM-IEEE on 10th & 11th of November'2014 with an aim of providing opportunities to students to exercise their gray cells and to show the talents and skills in the technical field by involving in technical activities practically. More than 1500 students registered for this technical competitive MELA from various institutions of India & abroad. Students showed their talents & skills by their participation in the various events of ECE,CSE,ME branches of engineering.
ECE Department is having in-house training cell collibrated with different reputed industries. An in-house training program has been conducted by this cell during summer training schedule in June-2014, where 30 students were provided 72hrs hands-on summer training program covering two programs Embedded Software Development and VLSI System Verilog Verification.
ECE Department had organised & conducted a two day National Level Advanced MATLAB-BOTRIX workshop for the first time in Delhi and NCR, at GITM on 25-26th October'2013 in association with UV Soft Technologies and IISc Banglore. GITM has been mentioned as one of the zonal centers in India to conduct the preliminary round of Advanced Robotics Championship of Robo Galaxy 2013-2014. In this workshop 184 students of engineering from 10 neighboring colleges participated and the topics covered in the workshop were Brief introduction to MATLAB, MATLAB Graphics, Image processing, GUI using MATLAB, Robotix using MATLAB

So, a Technical Seminar cum Workshop was organised on Embedded Systems & VLSI design in collaboration with Xinoe Systems Pvt. Ltd. on 16th April’2014 at GITM.
The department had organized a 1-day Seminar cum Workshop on on FPGA Design using Methodology in collaboration with DKOP Labs Pvt Ltd. on 4th April 2014 at GITM. The entire FPGA design flow was demonstrated with real life example implementation.
Dynamic faculties of ECE Department had presented and published more than 15 research papers in various National & International Conferences & Journals.
